DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -
Nicole Lasasso finished second, just three strokes behind Florida Tech's Daniella Iacobelli, a former NCAA Division II National Medalist, to pace the Eckerd Women's Golf squad to a fifth-place finish, out of 14 teams, at the Bash at the Beach, hosted by Embry-Riddle University.
With a first round team score of 315, the Tritons shattered a team record for lowest score in a single round. Eckerd improved on that in the second round, carding a 306 on the par-72, 5,932-yard course.
Lasasso, who finished just two over par, carded a first round 73 and an even par 71 in the second round for a total score of 144.
Morgan Deutsch also posted a strong showing for the Tritons, finishing tied for eighth out of 70 golfers at a two-round 149.
Jessica Potter finished third among the Triton golfers at 163 while
Georgia Gordon and
Leah Colombo rounded out the Eckerd quintet.
Eckerd will return to the links on Sunday, April 19 as it travels to Winter Haven, Fla. to participate in the Sunshine State Conference Championships hosted by Florida Southern at the Lake Region Yacht and Country Club.
