Results

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.
– In a rematch of last year, the University of Southern Indiana was able to pull away from the Eckerd College men's tennis program on Thursday afternoon at the Turley Athletic Complex, 9-0.

The Tritons (1-7 overall) were coming off the program's first win of the spring against Bentley (Mass.) University earlier this week before taking on the visiting Screaming Eagles (5-3 overall), members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

USI also claimed a 9-0 decision last season against the Tritons, returning many of the familiar names that competed in the March 7 meeting in 2012.

The Screaming Eagles were able to sweep singles in straight sets. Junior Connor Ohlsen appeared in his first singles match this season in the No. 5 slot.

Senior Dylan Randazzo, sophomore Stephen Felman, freshman Frazier Springfield, senior Ben Levy and freshman Jonathan Cheng, all battled in singles matchups.

Randazzo and Felman were a handful for Southern Indiana's Michael Kuzaj and Santiago Lopez pitted in the No. 1 doubles duel. The Screaming Eagles' combo was able to prevail by an 8-5 final.

The Tritons will have nearly a week to prepare for the New York Institute of Technology next Wednesday at home for an 11 a.m. morning non-conference contest.
