Clinton joined the Tritons staff in the summer of 2024. He enters his second year on the sidelines for the 2025 season.
He comes to Eckerd after spending the last 12 years at the Chargers Soccer Club in Clearwater, Florida. With the Chargers, he spent time as the MLS Next Assistant Director and MLS Next Head Coach.
He also coaches with the St. Petersburg FC (USL 2) , serving as the assistant coach in 2023 before taking on head coaching ranks in 2024.
Prior to his time in the Tampa Bay area, Clinton was the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach/Goalkeeper Coach at his alma mater Francis Marion University in South Carolina from May 2010 – July 2011. He also coached at the Kings Academy Christian School in Florence, SC.
Clinton spent two seasons with the Tampa Bay Rowdies (2013- December 2014). He also played professionally in the North American Soccer League
with the GPS Portland Phoenix in Maine and Mississippi Brilla in Clinton, Mississippi.
Clinton had a standout career at Francis Marion University from 2006-2010, where he was a four-year starter and team captain. He played in 57 games and scored 29 career goals with 12 assists. He was named to the Peachbelt All-Conference First Team, Peachbelt All-Academco First Team, and NSCAA All-Southeast Region Team.
