KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Eckerd men's soccer players
Luke Sheekey and
Anthony Arico have earned Second Team All-South Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Sheekey, who also earned All-Sunshine State Conference First Team honors as a senior, led the Tritons with nine goals, to go along with three assists and a team-leading 21 points in just 11 games played. For Sheekey, it is his second consecutive All-Region nod.
Arico, a sophomore midfielder, led all Eckerd midfielders with four goals, adding three assists for a total of 11 points, tied for second on the team with
Colin Kuhn. Arico, who was passed on by SSC voters, earns his first All-Region selection. The duo of Sheekey and Arico accounted for half of Eckerd's goal-scoring total in 2009.
Eckerd College, located in St. Petersburg, Fla., is a proud member of NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference.
