WINTER HAVEN, Fla - The Eckerd Men's and Women's golf teams wrapped up the 2008-09 season, finishing tied for sixth and seventh, respectively, at the Sunshine State Conference Championships held at Lake Region Yacht and Country Club on Tuesday.
Leading the men in the two-day, three-round tournament was
Callum Georgallides, who carded a 223, +7 over par to finish 21st out of 45 golfers. #
Thomas Mathiassen#, who was -3 after one round, finished second among all Eckerd men's golfers. The Tritons finished tied for sixth place out of nine teams and 45 strokes behind tournament champion Nova Southeastern.
On the women's side, where the Tritons finished seventh, #
Nicole Lasasso and Morgan Deutsch#, led Eckerd as they both fired a three-round 240 to finish tied for 22nd out of 40 golfers. As a team, the Tritons carded a three-round 1024, finishing three strokes ahead of Florida Tech. Rollins, which shot a three-round 902 won the tournament, seven strokes ahead of defending champions Nova Southeastern.
