VALDOSTA, Fla. - Luca Bell carded a first round 70, good for two under par, to pace the Eckerd Triton men’s golf squad as they participated in Valdosta State’s First Federal Southeastern Collegiate at the 7,127-yard Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

Despite Bell’s individual effort, the Tritons finished 17th out of a 17-team field that included 11 teams ranked in the Top 25 nationally and 10 Top 20 squads. Bell finished the three-round event with 222 strokes, good for 47th place out of 90 individuals.

Matt Baker and Binnari Kim carded 229 and 239, respectively, while Thomas Mathiassen and Chris Metcalf rounded out the Eckerd quintet.

Eckerd will return to the links on April 5 through 7 as it travels to Miami Shores, Fla. to compete in the Barry Buccaneer Invitational at Normandy Shores Golf Club.
