Maxwell Takes Out Ranked Opponent as Tritons Fall to Lynn, 8-1

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Despite the 8-1 loss that the Eckerd men's tennis team suffered in Sunday's conference match against Lynn University, No. 1 singles player Ben Maxwell topped his opponent Alessandro Sarra, who is currently ranked eighth nationally in Division II men's tennis. Maxwell defeated Sarra 6-4, 7-6, (7-5).
The Fighting Knights, who currently are ranked fourth nationally, improves their record to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in the Sunshine State Conference, while the Tritons are now 5-9 overall and 1-4 in the SSC.
The Tritons will continue their action tomorrow as they host the University of West Alabama at the Turley Athletic Complex. The match is set to start at 12 noon.
