Men's Tennis Picks Up Second Win, Defeating University of Indianapolis, 6-1

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After being edged by the University of Southern Indiana yesterday afternoon, the Eckerd men's tennis team came out and dominated over the University of Indianapolis (6-4), defeating the Greyhounds 6-1 at the Turley Athletic Complex.

The Tritons (2-6) swept doubles play.  At No. 1 doubles were Ben Maxwell and Adam HopkinsHisa Sato and Dylan Randazzo were victorious at No. 2 doubles, while Aaron Kleefield and James Walker defeated their opponents in a tie breaker at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, only four matches were completed.  No. 6 singles did not play, while No. 4 singles did not finish play.  Maxwell took out his opponent at the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-0.  Sato went into a tie breaker with his competition, dropping the first set, but coming back strong to defeat Matt Smith in the next two (4-6, 6-0, 11-9).  Randazzo was the final Triton to win his match, dropping the first set, 4-6, and sweeping the next two with scores of 7-5.

The Tritons will be back in action Wednesday, March 10th, as they host Post University at the Turley Athletic Complex, with a 3:00 pm start.
