FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Eckerd Men's and Women's golf teams wrapped up the 2009-2010 season, finishing ninth and sixth, respectively, at the Sunshine State Conference Championships held at Grande Oaks Club Tuesday.
Leading the men in the two-day, three-round tournament was
Callum Georgallides who carded a 215, to finish the tournament being tied 14th out of 45 golfers. The Tritons finished in ninth place out of the nine team tournament, having a total of 899, which was just nine strokes behind fifth place Florida Tech and 64 behind tournament champion Florida Southern.
On the women's side, where the Tritons finished seventh,
Nicole Lasasso led Eckerd as she finisihed the three-round tournament with a 248, placing tied for 28th out of 40 golfers.
Georgia Gordon and Morgan Duetsch finished close behind Lasasso, Gordon being tied for 31st and Deutsch tied for 32nd. As a team, the Tritons carded a three-round 1024, finishing onestroke ahead of Florida Tech. Nova Southeastern won the tournament, finishing with an 882.
