NSU Shark Invitational Final Results
Updated Season Statistics
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Eckerd College men's golf program saved its best for last on the final day of the Shark Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern University.
The Tritons (305-309-300--914) fired a third-round tally of 300 to hold steady in 11th place among the 14-team field. Barry University won the team title thanks to medalist Simon Forsslund.
“We saved our last nine holes after starting out on the toughest part of the golf course again today,” EC Head Coach
Bill Buttner said. “Yesterday, there was a heavy deluge, the bunkers washed out and fairways were saturated that left the course in rough shape. The conditions were tough but I have to give our guys credit for finishing well.”
The Tritons had Florida Tech in their sights to climb into the top 10, but ended up 14 shots back from the Panthers.
Eckerd came into the final round also in 11th following first and second round completion on Monday.
Callum Georgallides carried the torch as the Tritons' low man for the tourney, tying for 21st overall after carding a 1-over-par 73 today.
Jeff Evanier closed his tournament on a strong note with an even-par 72 to tie for 28th.
Georgallides finished with a two-day total of 223 and Evanier a 226, respectively.
Paul Henderson closed with a 77,
Luke Bobrowski posted a 78 and
Greg Reilly recorded an 81.
