All-SSC Men's Basketball Team
ORLANDO, Fla. - Eckerd senior forward
Zaronn Cann has been selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team, announced Thursday by SSC Commissioner
Jay Jones.
Cann currently is tied with
John Harper has the Tritons' leading scorer at 13.4 points per contest. Also the teams' leading rebounder at 5.8 per game, Cann boasts an SSC-leading .634 field goal percentage and a .643 (9-of-14) three-point shooting percentage in just over 18 minutes of action per contest.
Cann's rise to prominence this season has been a key factor in the Tritons' current 13-2 run, averaging 14.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during that span. In addition, he has hit 66.4 percent of his field goals while going 9-for-11 from downtown in that time frame. Cann's effort was rewarded on February 9 with an SSC Player of the Week nod.
Cann and the Tritons will return to action on Saturday, March 6 as they battle Rollins in semifinal action of the 2010 BlueCross and BlueShield of Florida SSC Championships at 12pm at Nova Southeastern's Don Taft Arena at the University Center.
