ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd's men's soccer team was honored for its academic distinction on Tuesday with six Tritons -
Frederik Klausen,
Tommy Lamb,
Harry Laing,
Blake Bauer,
Lucas Berglund, and
Jonathan Falbe-Hansen - named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) annual Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team.
Klausen, from Kongens Lyngby, Denmark, boasts a 3.75-grade point average in business administration. He started all 15 games this year, scoring two goals while contributing to four shutouts on the back line.
He is also a three-time recipient of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Lamb, from Kent, England, holds a 3.54 GPA in international business. He started all 15 games on the back line this year, scoring two goals while contributing to four shutouts. In addition, he went 2-for-2 in penalty kicks.
He is also a two-time recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Bauer, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, boasts a 3.65 GPA in business administration. He started 14 of 15 games this year, netting five goals and three assists. His goals ranked second on the squad.
He is also a two-time recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Berglund, from Uppsala, Sweden, holds a 3.93-grade point average in psychology. He started in all 14 games this year, recording one assist.
He is also a recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Falbe-Henson, from Silkeborg, Denmark, holds a 3.77 GPA in economics. He appeared in eight games this season with two goals and an assist.
He is also a recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Laing, from Kent, England, holds a 3.53 GPA in international business and marketing. He played in all 15 games with two goals and a team-leading five assists. His assist ranked second in the SSC.
He is also a recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The six honorees now move onto the Academic All-American ballot, which will be announced later this month.
The 2022 Academic All‐District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher to qualify for selection. The CSC Academic All‐America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
